OpMath Utilities Foundation

OpMath Utilities Foundation

Outline

The OpMath Utilities Foundation provides a range of common facilities for Java Servlets, including request handling, JDBC database access abstractions, and the DMLDoc Web reporting framework. As a whole, the Utilities Foundation provides an efficient and simple environment for Servlet development.

Status

An updated production version is available now.

Version

The current version of this component is 1.3. It has been tested with J2SE 1.4, and includes minor bug fixes over version 1.2.

Previous versions are available via ftp download.

Dependencies

Apache Jakarta Tomcat 4.0.3 (or greater), or equivalent application server supporting the Java Servlet 2.3 specification, such as an appropriate Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) server.

Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition J2SE 1.4.

License

Utilities for Open Math Components packages are made available according to the GNU Lesser General Public License. This allows for the incorporation of the Open Math Utilities packages into proprietary third-party software.

Manuals

A full set of manuals for the OpMath Utilities Foundation is under preparation, and will be complete shortly. As of now, one of the current manuals, and two of the previous release manuals are available here. (Note that there are significant differences in package and class names between the version described in the previous release manuals and the current version.)
